I would like to thank the officers who went to the funeral. We had twenty-eight officers go on the bus and other officers went in their personal vehicles. These deaths are becoming too common place. In many instances we only read about them on the Officer Down Memorial Page (ODMP) or when other officers we know from out of state post it on Facebook. According to ODMP as of today there have been eighteen line of duty deaths so far this year. Twelve from gunfire, which is up three hundred percent, five in automobile accidents, which is a fifty percent decrease and one attributed to a training incident… and we are only ten weeks into 2016! I would like to thank all of you who sent in a photo of your child and those who took the time to come into the House of Representatives meeting and be photographed.
