Some of the Bruins Greats were in attendance #24 Terry Boston Police vs. Boston Bruins Alumni and Friends hockey game a great success! By Robert E. Anthony O’Reilly, #16 Rick Middleton, Hal Gill skated on the ice against our Boston Finest hockey team. I had the privilege to coach the team if you want to call it that. The Boys in Blue went up 3-0 in the first period of play and everyone was waiting for the shoe to drop so to say as the Bruins then mounted an attack and tied the game up and pulled ahead before it was tied again at 4 each. The Bruins then came out in the last period of play and iced the game, We pulled the goalie with 2 minutes to play down by 2 goals 6-4 when Eastie’s own and former New England Patriot Jermaine Wiggins scored an empty net goal to put the game out of reach. The faces on some in attendance was a sight to see, as many of the officers that responded to the scene that night were in there to take in the game. About $30K was raised from the event. Everyone went to the Orient Heights Yacht Club after the game to unwind and tell a few stories. Matty Morris came back and Officers hung out with him and his family. Eric Schmidt was also on the ice during the official puck drop and the officers were happy to see him and thank him for everything.
